Hi,
Here's the CPU Support list...........
http://www.asrock.com/mb/cpu.asp?Mod...F6P-VSTA&s=AM2
and your processor is on it.

Check all connections have made been made properly.

Does anything happen at all when you press the Power button?
Check the Front Panel connectors are on the correct pins, or pressing the Power button will do nothing.

Do you have 2 identical sticks of memory installed, as it runs in Dual Channel mode?

Check that any and all jumpers are in their correct positions.

Re: AMD Athlon 64 LE 1600 I need help!!!!

Hi,

I dont know if its any help but I have just had the same experience. I bought a Athlon 64 LE-1640 for a Gigabyte GA-M56S-S3 motherboard and when I booted the system I got nothing at all. No Bios, just an empty screen.

The problem was that the Athlon 64 LE-1640 CPU while being supported by the GA-M56S-S3 mother, requires that the Bios on the motherboard be at level F2. The level on my motherboard is F1. So I get nothing.

The solution is to update the Bios to F2, or better still F4E, which is the latest Bios for this motherboard. It should then all work properly.

I dont know if this is any help but its worth checking.

Regards, JT

Hi Silver
Try clearing the CMOS.
Take the mobo battery out for a minute, and then replace.

Also, turn the power off at the back of the power supply and hold down your front power button for 30 secs, to clear any residual capacitor charge.

Re: AMD Athlon 64 LE 1600 I need help!!!!

The way that I updated my motherboard is a bit of a pain. I bought a CPU for the motherboard that did work at the Bios level of F1, which was the initial revision level for the motherboard. When this CPU was installed everything came up as it should. With CPU I then updated the Bios to the most recent release, which is F4E in my case. Once this was done I then installed the CPU that I originally purchased and everything was ok. This was how I did it.

There are other ways but they all required that you have a copy of the Bios on floppy or USB Disk etc. Although in my case, and yours too, this was not available until the system was up. Catch 22.

Anyway, I bought a cheap CPU and got the board updated. Hope this is of help.

Re: AMD Athlon 64 LE 1600 I need help!!!!

Just did a check on the motherboard that you have and the two CPU's that you mentioned. In the Supported CPU List the first CPU is listed as:

AM2 Athlon 64 LE-1600(ADH1600IAA5DH) Orleans 2200MHz 1000MHz 1MB F3 All

The Rev level is F3. The second CPU you mentioned could be one of three:

AM2 Athlon 64 ADH3200IAA4DE Lima 2000MHz 1000MHz 512KB G1 All
AM2 Athlon 64 ADA3200IAA4CW Orleans 2000MHz 1000MHz 512KB F All
AM2 Athlon 64 ADA3200IAA4CN Orleans 2000MHz 1000MHz 512KB F All

Note the Rev levels again. Once again I do not know if this is of any help. I was just thinking so I looked and pass it on to you. Maybe you have already checked all this. Anyway, I hope its useful.

Re: AMD Athlon 64 LE 1600 I need help!!!!

jtbyte,
On the ALIVENF6P-VSTA CPU Support List.
The "All" at the end means it is supported by all BIOS versions for the motherboard.

The F3 refers to the Revision of Stepping Core for the Processor.
The only other Athlon 64 LE-1600's are the ADH1600IAA5DE, with a Stepping Core of G1 and the ADH1600DHBOX, which is a boxed processor with F3.

The ADH1600IAA5DH is an OEM/tray processor.
