Processor
i just bought a case ect. for a new build and the processor is next i am having a hard time deciding on a Intel® Core 2 Duo Processor E8400 OEM 3.0 ghz or a Intel® Core 2 Quad Processor Q9450 OEM 2.66 ghz.
any help would be much appreciated thx, Zach |

It kind of depends upon what you want to do with this computer. If you are into games, then I would go with the e8400, but if you are in to cad cam operations or intense calculation computing or something of that nature, then the Q9450 would be my preference. The problem is that many present software applications don't use the full capabilities of the quad core. The bottom line, you can't lose with either of these processors. That is my opinion.

both excellent CPU. As tumbleweed suggests, machine usage depicts choice. Personally I think the Q9450, as you will have plenty of scope for multiple thread processing.

E8400 then. Definately. Your going to feel the benefits of the dual core more than the Quad, this is because most games dont utilise all four cores (though by now they should, Come on developers get working!!!).
