Raid1 setup with another HDD
Hi, my first time here, hope this will be ok in this area. I have a brand new system running on Raid1 and need to install another HDD but without Raid.
System: ASUS Maximus Extreme Motherboard Vista Ultimate 64bit Windows 2x 150 WD Raptor Sata HDD on Raid1(performance and backup setup with main boot drive) (Installing a 750GB Sata Seagate without being on the Raid, primary is just used for more storage on the computer.) Each time I connect the Seagate HDD I have it listed on the Raid Volume which is not what I want. Looks like this for the Matrix Storage Manager: Raid Volumes: Volume0 - Raid1(mirror) (Size 139.7GB) (Status Good) (Bootable Yes) Physical Disks: Port 2 - Seagate 750GB - Type/Status, Member Disk(0) Port 4 - WD 150 Raptor - Type/Status, Member Disk(0) Port 5 - WD 150 Raptor - Offline Member ==I do not want the Seagate on the Raid, just the 2 Raptors== I have my BIOS setup: J-Micron PATA/SATA Conntroller is Enabled Controller Mode is IDE JMicron SATA/Raid OptRom is Enabled SATA Confirguration is set to RAID I know something I am missing but I am not fully aware of the setup on Raid and Non-Raid on Sata drives. Anything you guys need to know let me know thanks. |
