[SOLVED] Dell Dimension 4500 won't turn on.

So my Dad gave me a bunch of old dells from his office to play with linux and other software on. One of the computers a Dimension 4500 will not turn on (not even the fans).

My first thoughts lead me to think PSU but, the light was on the motherboard, i also tried the PSU out in another computer and it worked.

I then thought it may be the switch so i spent about 45 minutes trying to take apart the stupid case, i hit the button and the led just glowed an amber/yellow color.

I have no idea what it might be, other than the mobo or the CPU. Does anyone have any thoughts of what to try next?

Could be the motherboard, does this dell have the diagnostic lights on the rear of the case, there should be 4, if so what does it display? You can then go to the dell website and look up what they mean

Re: [SOLVED] Dell Dimension 4500 won't turn on.

I stand corrected, I replaced the processor with one from another working dell. No the computer turns on the fans spin the cd drives open but I get no video output, or keyboard output.
