Cant get CPU attached(Very tired and stressed)
I just got a new MB and 775 Pentium Duo Core. I have installed Processors before, but this time something weird is happening. I place the processor in, in the correct orientation. Positive about that. Then I let the metal case down over the processor, and pull the lever back. The processor does not sink down, but I am able to get the lever into the slot and fit the case over it, with some pressure. I used quite a bit of force, but didnt feel like I broke anything, and my MB manufacturer said it might take a bit to get it down.
Now, after placing on my thermal paste, and trying to attach the psu fan and heatsink, I cant get the fan attached. Adjacent pegs will stick in, but anhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115037y pegs opposite diagonally will not go in the same time, as if the processor is sticking out too far. Any ideas? My MB is :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128337 My CPU is: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115037 |

Re: Cant get CPU attached(Very tired and stressed)

check your cpu for bent pins it does take a fair amount of pressure and it does feel as if you are doing it wrong can you attach to this thread soem digital pictures of your cpu and cpu heatsink fan and the pegs of which you speak ????
