I have a computer that my husband and I have built on our own. We shut down properly Friday night. Went to startup on Saturday had problems. It will power on, post bios beep codes(normal codes), then go to BIOS screen. After resetting settings and save, computer shuts down. Can not get past this point. Please help!!
Specs of Computer: ASUS motherboard--A7V8X AMD 2800 processor 500 watt power supply Asus video card AGP 2GB of memory 160GB hard drive DVD player+ DVD burner Floppy drive I have tried disconnecting to bare components so that I can narrow down a bad part. Nothing has fixed problem. I need this computer back up quickly. I use it for online schooling, plus my resume is on it and I need that for a new position I am applying for. If anyone can help me I would be greatly appreciate it. ![]() ![]() |

Re: HELP!! Computer will not Boot
possibly heat or a bad psu, check the cpu's heatsink make sure its tight and free of dust. If the problem still persists clean and reapply thermal paste according to these instructions
http://www.arcticsilver.com/instructions.htm If you can get in bios report your temps and voltages here for us to evaluate. If you have a spare psu that is adquate for the system give it a try |
