Screen goes black after post screen. Can't boot from cdrom or hd.
I hope someone can help me. It was working fine for about 2 weeks then crashed. Screen goes black after post screen. Can't find devices. Can't boot from cdrom.
Winxp pro 64 Gigabyte mobo GA-M57SLI-S4 4 gigs 400 ram MSI 8400 Video 2 250 gig Seagate HDs (no raid) Liteon DVD burner (I think) I think that's all. I have tried a few things but nothing works. If someone could help it would be appreciated Thanks Last edited by beekeeper : 05-13-2008 at 12:58 PM. |

At least the computer is able to post. Do you have any spare computer parts laying around? This would be a good time to test out spare parts if you have any.
I recommend swapping videocards, running the computer with only one stick of ram, and also try swapping out the cpu if you have another one. If you have a spare power supply, try that as well. Have you done anything to your computer such as install a new software before the problem occurred? |

Re: Screen goes black after post screen. Can't boot from cdrom or hd.
I just got satellite internet. It caused it to crash a couple times. I think the modem might be bad. That's the only thing that was added. The modem will drop out and cause everything to freeze. Can't use anything to correct it except turn it off.
Thanks |
