[SOLVED] ASUS M2N SLI Deluxe 570 - No Post
My Dad and I are building a new computer (this is our 4th one). I have an Asus M2n SLI Deluxe 570, 4gb Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2 800, 2 seagate barracuda 7200 sata, AMD Athalon 64 x2 5200 Brisbane 2.7, Samsung 20x DVD +- Burner, and Rosewill 550 SLI Power Supply. We hooked up all the wires, turned on the power and the light on the board glows green, the fans start, and the lights come on, but then after a few seconds, it seems the board goes into sleep mode. Has anyone had any experiences with this board? Does it appear to anyone that I may have a compatability problem? Anyone have any suggestions about what might be going on and how to get this system up and running? Thanks. ![]() |

Yes, there are 9 standoffs. The board has onboard sound. CPU is AMD Athalon 64x2 5200 + Brisbane 2.7 Socket AM2 65W Dual Core; video is ASUS Silent Magic 512 GeForce 8500; 2 Seagate Barracuda 7200 Sata 3.0; Memory Crucial Ballistix Tracer 4GB 240 pin DDR2 Dual Channel kit; Samsung DVD Burn S230N Sata, Rosewill PSU 550W. The fans stop completely.

Re: ASUS M2N SLI Deluxe 570 - No Post
Actually, we have never gotten a beep or any indication the board is alive, except that the fans come on briefly, the light glows green for a few seconds and then everything shuts down. The computer is at my Dad's house and I am translating what he is telling me. I appreciate the quick response!
Do you know if we can run a Sempron 1.8 on this board? We have one we could use to test with? |

Re: ASUS M2N SLI Deluxe 570 - No Post
CPU and heat sink are firmly seated. We didn't use artic silver on the bottom as we usually do, we relied on the stuff asus put on the bottom of the heat sink. Could that be a problem?

Re: ASUS M2N SLI Deluxe 570 - No Post
I have the same problem with the same board below is from asus tech support. I sent my board back for a new one before 30 days is up when i get the new board im if it does the same thing im going to try the cardboard trick.Like you i used the heat paste the came on the fan i am going to buy the silver paste on my new board. If you solve this problem or find a fix post it for us.
ASUS TECH REPLY-This indicates there is a power or heat issue on the board and the board is shutting down out of protection. Try another power supply or pull the board out of the case and run it on a cardboard box. this will eliminate the possibility of grounding causing this, also unhook any usb or fire wire connections on the board as they can fail causing this issue. |

This model of board is PURE GARBAGE. I went through three before the seller would just give me a full refund. Get your money back and go with something else.

Re: ASUS M2N SLI Deluxe 570 - No Post
I read a lot of reviews before I bought it and most of them were pretty positive. It was only AFTER I bought it that I began seeing a lot of complaints. One of my other boards was an ASUS and it was good one so when I decided to buy another one, I got another ASUS. After a lot of the things I've read, I am really questioning my decision. I just got it so I have a little less than 30 days to return it to the seller. What type of board do you suggest?

Re: ASUS M2N SLI Deluxe 570 - No Post
Just wanted to let you know it is up and running...I am a little red-faced over this one. The board has a 20 + 4 pin connection anda third connection for another 4 pin on the opposite side of the board. Once I plugged in the additional 12v pin it started running like a spotted pup! The ASUS User guide shows this set up, but it did not register with me or my Dad since we are accustomed to working with older boards and power supplies. Don't know if this will help anyone else, but if it does that is great. Thanks for the feedback and support. It definitely was a power supply problem. The board is fine. Just a little fine tuning a wire placement and I will have a screaming machine! ![]() |
