OS: WIN XP PRO


new motherboard install,no fan,no power

i just installed an asus M2N-MX SE+ in a ATX case . i have an amd dual core 4800 with 1G memory stick . i followed instructions in motherboard book to check connections . when i turn system on SB_PWR light comes on but no fan . where should i start first to trouble shoot .

Welcome to TSF.

Clear CMOS.

Check the standoffs between the motherboard and the case.
They have to match the motherboard's mounting holes exactly - no more, no less.

You can also try taking out all of the computer parts and re-seat the bare essentials which are: power supply, motherboard, cpu, ram, and videocard.

i pulled out mobo and had psu checked . im good there . plugged in video,24 pin power plus 4 pin . still no psu fan or cpu fan . just below cmos battery is a green sb_pwr button . that
is the only sign of life . could mobo be defective . i will try clearing cmos to see what happens .
