New Build Will not POST no Video Signal
OK I have put together New Build:
Here are NEW parts. MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3 CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Black Edition MEMORY: Patriot PC2-6400 800 MHZ 4GB (2x2GB) (5.5.5.12) 2.0V GRAPHICS: EVGA 8800GT 512 SuperClocked Edition HSF: Rosewill Z3 HD: WD Raptor 36GB 10,000 PSU: Corsair VX550W I done all the obvious, check cables, remove memory sticks, re-seat CPU, disconnect everything and set MOBO out of case on cardboard. etc etc. I get no keyboard lights or sounds from small case speaker. If I remove GPU and replace with Radeon X1300 PRO that I was able to borrow I get lights on keyboard only. no sound from speaker. I am only able to get continuous beep from speaker when GPU is removed. This is still true if Keyboard and all Memory also removed. I got all from NewEgg none looked damaged in shipment and all were sealed and New. What do I return all to try all this again or is there something I forgot?

Re: New Build Will not POST no Video Signal
Try booting with the bare essentials again. Take out all of the parts outside the case and only re-seat the following computer parts:
Motherboard, cpu, one stick of ram, and then the videocard. If the computer still does not post, then for sure problem could be either one of these parts. Try switching ram slots and see if that helps out. Also try clearing the cmos, refer to your motherboard manual for the cmos jumper location and instructions. Also you can try removing the bios battery for about 10min and put it back. Good luck!! |

Re: New Build Will not POST no Video Signal
OK still a problem but major change. I found after connecting old system back up part of problem was unique to my monitor. It can lose the digital signal and needs some special steps to wake up or use of analog cable.
Well the new build was out of box with nothing connected so I plugged in power and tested again. With New EVGA SuperClocked 8800GT no POST, no Video Signal no beeps from case speaker. Bad News! I pulled out new and put in an old Radeon XT1300 Pro I was able to borrow. SUCCESS get single beep indicating successful POST and video signal showing system is looking for drive with O/S, it sees the two sticks of RAM too. I did not go into BIOS as now I want to see if I can wake up this EVGA card. I put the EVGA back in and nothing, remember there is nothing connected to MOBO except power and out of case. I check seat of EVGA card and feels solid as does the power connection. I am using the power connection for PCI-E provided by the new Corsair VX550W which should have plenty of power even with a lot of drives and other things connected. It appears now graphics card is the root of problems and may need to be returned. |
