blank screen

the computer-Toshiba Satillite A135-S2276 o.s. Vista (1 1/2 years old)
The day my computer went down i had downloaded trend Micro internet security renewel and up dated vista. I received a message about low memory. When i tried to restart my computer i receive a blank screen.
after i let it cool down completly(over night) I will get the toshiba welcome screen and have the command options of f2 and f12 (i think) one i shut it off and try again i will not get that option untill it cools down again.
What ive done, checked power in line and im receiving 19 volts
pulled battery and power and tryed restart
pulled memory module and tried reseating it
fans working,dvd spins but quits
idiot lights say that it is pluged in to external power,
drive activity light stays on ( ? )
battery light switch's from orange to green as battery charges
i guess my question is could low memory be the cause of the blank screen.

oh yea,i got the password question one time when i was trying to make "anything happen",,,but havnt seen it but once.
