Re: Overclocked E2160.. Voltage to high?
at first glance I would say your voltage is not too high
PROVIDED your temps and cpu stress temps are good ?????? and your are using an aftermarket cpu cooler like the zalman 9700 instead of the intel OEM heatsink ????? you could in theory go all the way to 1.50 (but I dont advise you try that) I would realistically say 1.40 with stress testing passing ?????? I would say run Orthos for atleast two hours to see if the system can stay stable ???? http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/385/ while you are running orthos run this program too at the same time and watch your temps ......... if your temps go above 55C I would re-think your settings http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/

Re: Overclocked E2160.. Voltage to high?
awesome thanks for your reply.. the only "stress test" that I have been running was the Vista score update.. I just installed a Freezer Pro 7 temp is 28C at idle. I will let you know after my stress test.

Re: Overclocked E2160.. Voltage to high?
Torture Test ran 2 hours, 2 minutes 15 seconds - 0 errors, 0 warnings.
I am going to see how high I can get it, I got the multiplier up to 300x9 then I raised it up to 320, it wouldn't boot at that setting. Do you think this could be because I have a pair of 667 1gig sticks? |

Re: Overclocked E2160.. Voltage to high?
check your ram sticks specs as listed by the manufacturer to see what the voltage range is?
good sticks can be ramped up to 2.1 volts i think your ram voltage needs to be increased if the specs allow for it? what is your ram multipler set at ???? this can be seen on your cpu-z screen for memory timings ? you would probably get more speed if you had DDR2-800mhz ram

Re: Overclocked E2160.. Voltage to high?
you ram ratio is now at 3:5
the system would run faster at 1:1 ratio please review your motherboard manual in the bios section / you should find a section which outlines memory divider >>>>> I would try playing with that keep us posted

Re: Overclocked E2160.. Voltage to high?
The SPD value is in the MIT section a couple of things below the effective speed of the cpu >>>>> you will need to change the SPD from its default "auto" to manual
then select the number 2X from the menu

Re: Overclocked E2160.. Voltage to high?
ok I did what you said and got it to 1:1 tyen I got a blue screen shortly after so I set it to 2.50 and its fine so far.. I also set my DDR2 overvoltage control to +0.5V is that to high?

Re: Overclocked E2160.. Voltage to high?
yes the ram voltage is too high !! +.03 for the BEST of ram is for overclocking
in your shoes I would take advantage of the cheap DDR2 high performance ram / like the Corsair XMS DDR2 -6400 with timings of 4-4-4-12 those sticks can run at 2.1 volts which is +3volts higher than stock which is 1.8volts right now with cheap ram you are in troubled waters !! ![]()
