Re: Cpu Running Too Hot
Here's a stupid question...if you are not plugging in to the MOBO cpu/fan header are you plugging in to a Molex?
If no then your fan isn't spinning ...giving you extreme temps.....lol |

Re: Cpu Running Too Hot
im plugging all three fans in to molex, should i be plugging them into the mobo instead? i just read that a few people have had temp reading problems with this mobo. some say that the sensors are all screwed up and gives off false bios temps while some say that the northbridge is too close to the cpu so that brings the cpu heat up. one guy got a heatsink for the northbridge which increased his cpu temp by 12 degrees. too late to get refund for mobo but i could either rma it or get a northbridge heatsink. if i do decide to get one, what do ya'll recommend? i have a zalman cpns 9700 led onthe cpu which is pretty big so i dunno if i can fit a northbridge heatsink.

Re: Cpu Running Too Hot
Well if you are getting info such as screwed up sensors and the fans are running ..ethier way header or molex ....the system is stable the cpu is alive and well ....ain't that a ***** ...I would change mobo's. Or live with it....don't you hate things when they aren't perfect ....Geeeez , that bugs me..

Re: Cpu Running Too Hot
If the computer is 100% stable without a doubt then I would not worry about it, I would really worry about the rosewell psu, plus if thats over worked it can lead to higher case temps witch in turn causes higher cpu temps

Re: Cpu Running Too Hot
solved the problem last night and man, did i feel stupid. the hsf was on backwards and so was the rear fan. never used a heatsink besides the little stock ones so i just figured that the fan should point towards the rear.
... anyway, temp is now at 34 idle. haven't stressed it yet so don't know what temp is at full load but i'll get to it later. thanks ya'll. |

Re: [SOLVED] Cpu Running Too Hot
LOL ...that is great news and rather humorous ....always the little things ....at least this time...I remember wondering how to tell which way a fan should go ...I think I had to google the answer....
This side the wires come out , is the side the air blows out....so far that has proved true. Before that I used a lighter to determine which way the flame bent ....lol Good Job Last edited by cp_ent : 05-21-2008 at 06:19 PM. |
