Question Never seen SATA plugs on a motherboard like this. PLEASE help!

I have an E-Machine T-3516. So I have an IDE motherboard that is capable of doing Serial ATA as well. I'm trying to connect a Sony Optiarc SATA (Serial ATA right?) DVD burner to the motherboard.

On the motherboard, there are blue, white, black, and yellow plugs with Serial ATA written under it.

What cables do I need to make this happen? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I've never heard of any alternate motherboard connectors for SATA, even on proprietary stuff like Compaq, Dell etc.

You aren't by chance trying to use an eSATA cable are you?

You should be able to use a standard SATA cable:

Thanks for the advice. But...if I understand you correctly, then I only need a basic Data cable to run from the DVD burner to only one of those multicolored plugs. And your talking about the data wire, because the plug is small.

But I wonder where does the SATA power cable go. Now, that's the million dollar question. Man, I wish you were here to see it.

You may need an adaptor:

Oh, I see the problem. You were talking about the motherboard connector, but the power connector comes from one of the power supply leads, not the motherboard.
And like was mentioned, if your power supply doesn't have that type of connector, you can use an adapter.
