P4C800-E-Deluxe Rear USB All Dead!
Good Day,
Thanks for letting me be here! I just bought (19 Apr 08) a used ASUS P4C800-E-Deluxe off eBay (from a reputable seller) to replace my burned up P4P800-E-Dx. Noticed right away i could only use a PS2 keyboard and mouse to install XP SP2, I updated the BIOS , Installed the latest chipset from ASUS and still nothing , Device Mgr. show everything in working order, I noticed also the only USB's I can get any kind of activity from are the 7/8 connected to a 2 port header , the 5/6 is dead too, but anything I plug into this 7/8 header only gives me a popup that say USB Not Recognized. Please Help! And thanks ahead for your valuable time! |

Re: P4C800-E-Deluxe Rear USB All Dead!
Make sure that under the BIOS, all of the USB ports are enabled, sometimes there is 2, 4,6 or 8.
I have the same board, I think, and the USB was all dead when I got it (cheap $20) You can search under my username, but the consensus is that if the onboard controller is gone, there is no easy way to fix, and a BIOS flash wont help either. Probably best to just use a PCI USB card. |

Re: P4C800-E-Deluxe Rear USB All Dead!
well, feel free to try to clear the bios if you want, not sure what that will do for you, but make sure that in the bios settings, all of the usb ports are enabled.
look on the asus website for the latest usb drivers for your operating system. hope that helps! |
