intel compatibilities

Hi,

My boss have purchased a new set of CPU's with the following specs Intel DQ35MP with a Core 2 Quad 2.4GHz processor, then he bought a Ati Radeon HP 3870 video card. Now the computer freeze when it boot up and would not go to bios itself upon pressing F2, when i pulled out the video card it works just fine go to bios and ready to install windows. Is there any compatibilities issues with the video card and the motherboard?

Any tip will be helpful?

Thanks.

Re: intel compatibilities

I have not been able to find any specs on the power supply, I suspect it may be a generic brand. If it does not deliver at least 26A on the 12V rails there will be a problem.
I would make sure it is at least 700W+
The 3870 is a demanding card so it may be a case of the power supply just not cutting it.
Personally I would feel better with a decent unit in there anyway.
The likes of Seasonic, silverstone, antec,PC Power and cooling and aiming for the 700/750W
