Arrow White screen before Windows loads

I've just installed 2GB of DDR2 533 MHz ram into my system.

After tearing it all apart, installing the ram and then putting it all back together, I loaded up Windows. It found the new memory perfectly and has every time since. Then it goes from the bootup screen, to this white-ish type thing that goes from the right side of my screen and stretches to left and thus my screen turns white. It looks to be fizzling slightly and fuzzy.

It then disappears all at once and then the Vista icon shows up in the center and it loads fine. All is well. I've noticed nothing strange about the way it runs(except for how much faster the new memory makes it go. WOW!) It doesn't seem to effect performance, so should I be worried?

It happens everytime I restart. I didn't damage anything inside as I was installing the memory modules that I am aware of. The only I can think of is that a component of the mobo is sitting on the heat plate of the new memory. Its a circular component with strips of copper wound around it. I thought it may be a problem but everything seems to work.

Now for starters, I haven't tried removing the memory yet to see if it still happens, but I plan to. I wanted to ask here first to see if that (the capacitor, or transistor or whatever-ya-doohicky that makes contact with the metal plate of the module's heat sink plating) would even be the issue.

I for sure appreciate any responses for anyone. Especially those who've hd similiar issues.

BTW Im an avid gamer and after the new mem went in I played Sins of a Solar Empire (is this game cool or what?) windowed, Command and Conquer 3 windowed, browsed around the net looking for a better gfx card on one window and played various games on notdoppler.com all at once. It didn't mind this load and in fact performed with graduated efficiency.

Any ideas?

Re: White screen before Windows loads

figured I'd just throw the topic into the recent area as it may lack sufficient scrutiny if people have to click the '2' to get to the next page to see it....

sIll just give it a bump to send it to first place again
