fan controller

can i use the onboard cpu fan header and a fan controller to monitor the fan? would i have to splice the wires together? do i have to use the onboard cpu fan header or can i use the fan controller to operate the cpu fan? i think it mIght not POST with the cpu fan header unplugged, what do you think/

don't you have another fan header on the m/board
if not splice it into one of the molex plugs
