Re: Help MSI P35 Platinum

Hi Jesse, the first thing to do is make sure all the power connectors are plugged in securely, you have a 24 pin ATX for the board, a 4 pin molex for the PCI-E slot, and an 8 pin for the CPU. If your video card has a power plug on it, make sure it is plugged in too. Be sure your memory stick is in slot DIMM A1. Check the memory to see what it's voltage requirements are, the board defaults to 1.8v but most high performance memory needs at least 2.1v to run at it's rated speed. When the screen goes black, is it dead black or kind of a grey black? Mike

Re: Help MSI P35 Platinum

I would clear the cmos by unplugging the computer from the wall and removing the small battery for 30 min, then move the cmos jumper. At that time replace both to the original position, boot the computer and enter the bios. Go to "Load Optimized Defaults" and OK that, then set the boot sequence to CD first, floppy second and hard drive third, esc then F10 to save. Now boot off the XP cd to see if the install can procede. If this fails, and you have another video card, you might try it now.
