[SOLVED] Cannot go beyond BIOS splash screen
Hi all,
My computer ACER E-380 AMD X2 3800 1 GB Ram 250 GB HDD overnight stop booting beyond the BIOS splash screen. It was functioning ok with F1 option to continue a night before. Next day morning it just gives me BIOS splash screen with F2 for setup & F12 for boot sequence. But when I try using my keyboards (USB and PS2) none of the key stroke works. HDD works fine check on another computer. If I remove the RAM than it beeps, that shows the RAM are okay too. I suspect BIOS virus. Kindly advise how to fix it? I can't flash my BIOS since none of the keys works. |

you reset the bios by
removing the power lead from the computer remove the battery move the cmos jumper from pins 1 and 2 to pins 2 and 3 and then back to oins 1 and 2 replace the battery replace the power lead boot the computer

some m/b's have just 2 solder point that you touch with a small screwdriver the clear point will be close to the batttery

if it has a card reader disable it in the bios and see if it goes futher
check what the bios is reporting the voltages as

Sorry I havent closed this topic. I would like to thank all the support i got from Dai.
Finally I replaced the BIOS chip with a new one ordered from one of the sites suggested. |
