Gigabyte k8ns pro and s-ata

Hi!

Just bought a new motherboard, Gigabyte k8ns pro, and i found that i had to reinstall XP, but setup doesn't find my sata samsung spinpoint 120 gb hdd. I found some instructions on the cd that followed with the card on how to put the drivers on a floppy and then press F6 and add them while you install, but none of my attempts so far have been successful.

I just wondered if anyone have installed Windows Xp on a s-ata hdd on this motherboard,
and i hoped they could give me instructions on what to do

So, when you hit F6 to install third party hardware did it take your driver or just skip past?

P, V or M series SpinPoint drive and what is the model number...Samsung should have the latest drivers.

Okay. I have a Samsung SpinPoint P80 120GB SATA. Didn't think about samsung's web-page. Maybe i'll check there.
Didn't skip past driver install btw, i just haven't found the drivers that work.
Experiences are still welcome!

You might check in the BIOS to see if the SATA is enabled. Also check to see if the drive shows up in the BIOS.

Crazijoe is right, make sure all that is up to date but you will most likely need to go to samsung's site for the drivers.
