I recently upgraded MOBO, processor and RAM in my comp and since I've done that I have been having a bit of a weird problem.
Sometimes when I start my computer or reset my computer it will hang during the POST right after it reads which processor I have installed. Other times it makes it right through there no problem but it will just hang at a black screen while it tries to load windows. I am running Vista Ultimate and it hangs right before where the Windows logo comes up if it were to load correctly. If i just do a manual restart the comp will tell me windows failed to load correctly last time and I tell it to start normally and it does just that. I have reset my bios several times, I have run both windows memory checker and memtest86. Both show no problems. Once the computer is on it runs great. Smooth, fast no blue screens of death or anything. Here are my machines specs: EVGA Nvidia 680i LT SLI Intel Core 2 Duo Quad @ 2.4 Ghz 4 GB Corsair PC 6400 DDR 2 with EPP enabled Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTX Creative X-fi Fatal1ty Sound Card 250GB Maxtor 7200RPM HD Thermaltake 750W Toughpower PSU Please let me know if you need any more info any suggestions would be great. Thanks all. |
