EXTREMELY high temps on CPU!

I built this new PC very recently, but never realized the temps on the CPU that is happening! I am using ORTHOS to stress test it and look at the temps!

I checked the heatsink + thermal paste and its fine. What else could be wrong?

it's weird, that both core's temperatures are the same. that situation is very unlikely. try getting a different temperature gauge (like the nTune monitor). my best guess right now is that the CPU temp detection system is malfunctioned, or something like that.

Most boards would have shut down the computer at that point. I agree, it must me a faulty sensor. Also try SpeedFan from my sig.

right, sensor. that's the word i was looking for. and: if it's not resolved, you can always try cooking food, or heating coffee/tea with that thing!
