Asus P4C800E-Deluxe and Sata

I have and Asus P4C800E-Deluxe which has 4 sata ports.Until recently I was just using one as i had only one hard drive.I have now installed another hard drive and a sata samsung dvdrw. The new hard drive is on sata2 the old on sata1.I thought it was logical to connect the dvdrw to the next sata port which is sataraid0 but it doesn't work.Probably some configuration settings are needed to be made but i dont know what!

Re: Asus P4C800E-Deluxe and Sata

Have you enable the Promise controller and configured it as IDE in the BIOS? Then you will need to add the Promise Non-Raid driver from the Install CD or updated from the ASUS download site (best).

Re: Asus P4C800E-Deluxe and Sata

Anthony,

Had the same problem dude. I show how to set this type of config up in the DOC file I posted in another thread.

Long story short, you need to move your HDD's to the SATA_RAID1/2 ports, and put the optical drive on the SATA1 port.
But before you can do that, you need to do some work first.

The steps are in the guide doc in this thread, currently the last post:HDD hook-up P4C800E-deluxe
