Asus - A8N32-SLI Deluxe Problem

A little over a year ago i bought a A8N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard for the new computer i was building. Everything was working fine but Yesterday when i went to turn on my computer its gets to the Bios screen then to a black screen with a flashing underscore marker, then it asks me to insert a bootable media device. and wont go any further. I thought my windows XP crashed so i went to reinstall it and it gave me a messag saying that there was no Hard drive to install it on. I went to check the Bios and there was no hard drive detected on my computer so i checked the connections everything was prefect and i made sure power was getting to the HD as well and the IDE cable was in properly. I then took out my hard drive and tried it in my friends computer and it booted up fine and was able to start windows. so i dont think its a HD problem and everything was getting power so im pretty sure its not a Power supply problem. And i tried flashing the bios and everything and no luck. So if anyone can help me determine what the problem is and how i may be able to fix it. it would be much appreciated.

Comp Specs.
Mobo: Asus A8N32 - Sli Deluxe
CPU: AMD 64 Athlon 2200
Ram: 2x Gskill 3200 1gig ram
Hard Drive: Maxtor 200gig 5200rpm
GFX: 2x Nvidia XFX 6800 Extreme 256mb (SLI Config)

Re: Asus - A8N32-SLI Deluxe Problem

what is the brand name and voltage of your PSU? How many watts on the +12v rail? (all this can be found on the PSU itself)

Have you tried clearing CMOS?

Re: Asus - A8N32-SLI Deluxe Problem

I figured out the problem. It was in the Bios somehow the Sata and Raid features got enabled which override the IDE setup it would be something so stupid.

Re: Asus - A8N32-SLI Deluxe Problem

.... after being on the computer for 4 hours it restarted on its own on me and now doesnt recognize the hard drive and i made sure that Sata and Raid was disabled. I noticed that when i used to start it up i would here a single beep and now i dont here any beep.

I have tried the power plug in to the CD-ROM in the hard drive and had no luck.

My PSU is a Mad Dog (one i bought from Circuit city after the first one i bought fried my first hard drive and Dvd-rom about 1 1/2 years ago.) The its a 550w and on the side it says [12v1 and the 12v2] is 360watts. Let me know if there is more info you guys need to know appreciate the support.
