I recently bought a new motherboard (gigabyte - p35-ds3l) and was beter than my last ASus mobo it actully turned on and I could run the bios now here's where it gets tricky I partitioned my hardrive for windows xp and after the first restart it goes to a black screen with many sentances of "computer jargon" thinks for a bit than restarts and does the same sequence again. If anyone has any sugestions on what to do next all the help would be appriciated

Re: motherboard woes? Or something else...
what do you mean you partitioned the hard drive? Did you partition after windows was installed? Or have you installed the new system yet? Can it boot to a cd (like the windows install CD)?
I am guessing you installed windows on your partition and then when it restarts it gets stuck in a loop? If so, make sure there is no CD in drive and the computer is set to boot from HDD in BIOS. Also, can you let us know as to what the last few things that come up on the screen are before it restarts. |
