No IDE Drives Detected
I left my computer on all night logged on to the Internet. When I woke up that morning There was a horrible sound coming from the speakers. Instead of turning the computer off I just turned off the sound to the speakers. When I came home from work I found my computer back to the windows home screen. However when i tried to move the mouse it seemed as though the computer was still frozen. I turned it off from the main power supply because I couldn't even get it to turn off any other way. When I tried to turn it back on the CD drive started to make this clicking noise and then after about 3 or 4 min the screed said no IDE drives detected please inserte system CD then press enter. It says that there are no drives, master or slave, detected. What is the problem?

Re: No IDE Drives Detected
it sounds like you had a power surge that has damaged components
see if they are listed in the bios remove the power plugs from the hard drives and see if the computer works from the case button
