Some basic Mobo+Case setup issues I'm having
(1) My motherboard has plugs for 2 chassi fans but I only have 1. Does this pose an overheating risk? Do I find stoppers for the unused Chassi fan plugs? Do I need a new case?
(2) I have a IDE hd but I lack the physical space for an adapter between the case and my harddrive. Can I use the 40 pin floppy IDE slot to connect my Harddrive instead? Or do I need to dish out another 50 bucks for a new case? (3) Why the hell do all the IDE cables have plugs on each end, instead of plugs on one end and pins on the other? Re: Some basic Mobo+Case setup issues I'm having
Hmm, then the question is: I need some way to connect my 44-pin harddrive to my SATA pin mobo.
And you're right, I did mean IDE/PATA... I'm exhausted today :( |

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...t15&doy=search The problem is, none of them have the right male/female plug configuration for me. My idea right now is to put it in a hard drive case, but I can't find a cheap one that works with both PATA and SATA. I have a new 320 gig hard drive for my computer, but obviously my old one (the one with the PATA) has a lot of valuable memory on it. |
