OS: winderos XP service Pack 2


How to setup

How do u setup the new computer? I got to a screen with the BIOS and then i just went to save and exit. After that it reboots then happens all over again going to the screen to tell me to press F2 to get to the BIOS. I dont no wat to do after the BIOS. or do i have to set sumthing up in there?

By NEW is it a factory build or did you build it new? It sounds like you built it and it needs to know what hardware you have like the type of HD (EIDE, SATA) which has to be set in the bios. Be sure to save any changes when closing the bios. Once the HD is identified it should boot to it. Set the bios to disbale FAST BOOT so that you can monitor the bios screens. You might also have to disable the Logo screen. You can hold a screen by using the pause/break key to study the configuration it is or isn't detecting. Look to see if you primary HD is listed as primary and not on secondary. If it is on secondary move the cable to the primary or '0' connector. Also double check your HD jumper setting. Hit enter to resume the boot.
