Delay in power-up
I am using a Shuttle X with Windows XP.
For the last few months, I experience a long delay (more than 30 secs) when powering up machine in the morning. By that I mean that there is a delay between pressing the start button and the blue power light coming on and the computer setting up. Would anyone have an idea what might be causing this? Many thanks |

Re: Delay in power-up
hy catramble
I think 2 possible causses: a) In BIOS settings, depending on your Motherboard model, "hard disk delay" possibly activated, in wich case the boot from the hard is retarded to allow a proper initialisation of the hard drives. Find this option (or similar througt the bios an disable or put a lower value of time) b) Look and check your power suppy (PSU). For a various causes, it could give your PC a lower energy than is needed, and the computer can't power up. This second possible cause happened me a time ago, and changing the PSU for other newer the PC becames OK again :) sorry of my baaaaad english ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() good luck!
