Hi, firstly I just wanted to say what an excellent forum this is!
Ok, I have a Dell Dimension 1100 im working on Service Tag(1C0312J) Just last week this happened, 1.)the bios progress bar starts working, then jams after about an inch. Upon pressing main power off, and on again immediately, the bios runs fine and windows starts normal - everythings fine! No errors in Device manager - computer runs just normal. So I used recovery console and did CHKDSK - brought up one error in volume c: - dont know if it fixed the error as there was no message to say. FIXBOOT - did something i think added a new boot thing, but upon reload said something like "cannot load MEM BAR PCI device" - , took XP CD out, booted to windows, restarted computer and same situation as "1). What do i need to do? Change CMOS Battery? Check cables? (inside and out) Check temp? Im fairly IT proficient....so any ideas please!!!! Last edited by salmanc; 12-22-2007 at 02:38 PM. |
