Motherboard Suggestion?

Hi!
Great forum!
My IT guy gave me an old Server. We think that the motherboard is bad. It is an ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe. It is a socket 478 (old) has 1gb of DDR 400 Ram, don't know what the CPU is, but the manual says it is set up for Intel P4/ Celeron. It has 2 - 200gb SATA hard drives in it. If I want to get this thing up and running, what motherboard do you suggest? I would like to reuse the RAM if possible and maybe even the CPU. (am on a limited budget). It is a nice (big) ANTEC case.
I would like to use it as a second desktop, but set it up to run on my SAMSUNG DLP TV (50") that accepts a VGA connection. I would like to run Call of Duty 2 and some games and let the kids surf the web on it. I guess if going from scratch, I would need, MB, CPU, Cooling fan, RAM and graphics card.
On Newegg, I found a Biostar Combo)(See Link)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138100&Tpk=N82E16813138100 that is inexpensive and may work. I could then pick up some ram for it.
Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Scott

Re: Motherboard Suggestion?

Hello and welcome to the TSF, the mobo you linked to is for amd cpu's, the only place I could find a replacement ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe is on ebay, to change out the mobo may also cause you to have to purchase another copy of XP. What does the computer do when you try to boot, what psu deos it have.

Re: Motherboard Suggestion?

Thanks for your response!
I don't even get POSTon the screen. The monitor is blank (no green light on the monitor). Hard Drives are running, but no beep, etc. PSU is ANTEC 430W. Green light is on on the MB. I put in an XP disc in the CD and no joy.
What do you think?
Thanks!
