Pausin at Post

Specs: Biostar NF325-A7
AMD 64 3000+
500W PSU (it is old though)
Corsair Value Select 512 MB
Nvidia 5700

Fixing up an old comp to give it to my younger brother. The motherboard is brand new, whereas everything else is old. My problem is i get everything powered up.. it post's saying Nvidia 5700 bios. It switches to the next screen but its black and you can see the cursor blinking in the upper left corner and thats it. It wont move past that point. I have other PSU's to try, but i havnt yet as everything (mobo, cd-roms, hd) are all booting up. Im lost as to what's the problem.

Yep, plenty ;) I already tried some Ultra 512mb 400MHZ. Still have some Samsung PC 2100 128MB, no name 64mb, and Siemens 128mb pc100, plus various other Value Select sticks

Re: Pausin at Post

computer troubleshooting is just a game of parts swapping

if ram stick swapping doesnt work / then try another video card

Re: Pausin at Post

Quick note... when i pulled the CPU out of the old mobo (which i thought was dead becuase it was doing the same thing) as i began to put the cpu into the new one i noticed there was a bent pin. I readjusted it. I dont know if this occured last time i installed the cpu or what, but could that be a possiblity for causing this problem?
