Mistake Does KN8 ultra support DDR2?

Does Abit KN8 Ultra support DDR2 RAM? If not, what kind of RAMs does it support? I'm very unexperienced in these kind of things.

Re: Does KN8 ultra support DDR2?

Hello and welcome to the TSF. No, your mobo supports 184 pin DDR memory (pc3200), max 4 gigs. If you want to know more check out CPU-Z in the links below or post back if you have any other questions.

Question Re: Does KN8 ultra support DDR2?

I have related question.
I run WinXP but am switching to Vista 32bit. I currently have 2GB ram in my ABIT KN8 Ultra. Do I need to add two sticks of 1 GB even though 32bit OS can only address 3GB or can I just add one stick of PC3200 ram?

Re: Does KN8 ultra support DDR2?

2GB od RAM is fine for XP. Filling all of the RAM slots is not advisable. If you want to install 4GB then get 2 X 2GB (matched pair) sticks.

Re: Does KN8 ultra support DDR2?

Thanks for the clarification.
I think I will wait to see how things run under Vista 32bit before I spend the $70 to $90 for 2x1GB sticks especially since I will only really end up using 1GB more than I currently have.
