Nothing Happens at All
Ok, I have this older computer im tryin 2 fix. Ive made some progress on bringing it back to life. First off i switched out the PSU, b/c the old one was dead... So with some power going to the LED's and MOBO, i thought that was it. But then i saw i needed a 12V 4PIN Square connecter b/c of my mobo form factor. So, now the mobo should be getting the correct amt of power from the psu. So, i got one led on the mobo that lights up and the front led lights up. However, the CPU fan doesnt start, HDD disk do not spin either. Nothing happens at all.
Tryin to find the prob. Im thinking it might be the cpu... I saw on sum other forums that when the cpu is dead, then nothing happens at all. Is that true? Thanks for any help in advance. System: Emachines T3828 -internal all standard except PSU Last edited by JayIBM; 11-01-2007 at 04:45 PM. |

Re: Nothing Happens at All
I've worked on alot of those models, usually a dead motherboard
![]() I replace most of those with a newer socket 939 processor and asus motherboard if youre gonna pay for a board you should take advantage and get a faster cheap cpu

Re: Nothing Happens at All
PSU make is LITE-ON Electronics, MODEL: ps61612h1
So, ur saying that the motherboard most likely died and replacing it would be best to go? Would a dead mobo be causing my problems im receiving? |

Re: Nothing Happens at All
the Lite-On PSU model number you gave me links to a 180 watt PSU that is not really enough power to run your configuration
you could really pull this together if you spend about $40.00 motherboard $40.00 PSU $75.00 >>>> cpu ???????????????

Re: Nothing Happens at All
Ok... hmm, seems like a new cpu would be better choice but i would rather spend $5 extra dollars for a better mobo and better psu...
just so u know, the standard psu that came with it that is now dead i think, was the Make: Bestec and Model: ATX-250-12E ... I guess ill wait till i get sum money and run up 2 fry's alittle later... |

Re: Nothing Happens at All
well / your PSU is a very weak player
the motherboard could have been killed when the old PSU died the CPU is most likely fine >>>> they are rather tuff

Re: Nothing Happens at All
you could play it safe and get a PSU
it that doesnt fix things then you need a motherboard but "if" you need a new motherboard it would be very foolish to buy the same socket 754 board when for the same money you could get alot more performance ????
