Bad Motherboard?
I have an HP Pavilion model a800n. It stopped working. Motherboard is an ASUS A7V8X-LA. Machine powers up, that is the power supply light comes on green and the fans all run but nothing else happens. There is no output to the monitor and the drive make no sound at all. I have tried a different power supply and a different Bios batter with no luck. I called HP and they said it was the mb after about an hour of troubleshooting. This board is not too easy to find...is there some other replacement or am I jumping the gun here assuming my problem is the motherboard.
