Monitor wont show anything unless I clear CMOS and wont boot!

New to forums, so any one who is willing to post and help me, you're the best

My Problem is that I just built my new computer, very nice parts, for me, a newbie. I'm pretty sure everything is good, all lights turn on all fans go, all jumpers on as per mobo manual said, BUT whenever I turn on my comp, the monitor stays blank, the green on light just flashes. I read up on that problem and it said that maybe if I cleared the CMOS. So I did that and it booted THen the CMOS set Wrong error came up and did F1 into set up tried to see what the problem was, after I set soem things i did Save and Exit my comp restarted and again the monitor problem! So after reseting the CMOS again I just pressed F2 to go with default settings, and it said thign to the effect of nothing being on hard drive boot from CD press any Key, so FINALLY I get into Windows XP setup. But it wouldnt let me put my OS onto my Raptor only onto my 500G Hard drive, so I restarted my comp So now no matter what I do I can only get into the BIOS after resetting CMOS and whenever I just skip and use default settings it gives me "Missing Operating System" error. If any one can read all this and help, I will cry with happiness lol.

just have connected the hard drive you wish to install windows on
in the bios set it to boot from cd first save and exit the bios
pop in the xp cd and reboot

Re: Monitor wont show anything unless I clear CMOS and wont boot!

I unplugged one of my hard drives and cleared CMOS, but now, the monitor doesn't show anything again! I went and bought a new CMOS battery thinking that might of been the problem, but even after I replaced the battery the monitor power is still blinking green and won't show me anything. Is oe of my parts scrambled? Maybe my RAM? Everything still turns on and lights up fine.

Re: Monitor wont show anything unless I clear CMOS and wont boot!

normally i would suggest borrowing before buying to check but it's not easy to borrow one with the high wattage

Re: Monitor wont show anything unless I clear CMOS and wont boot!

Well I got a pretty decent ( I hope) Opwer supplyA BFG Tech PSU 800 watt, JUST s oI know I'm not under powered lol. And if I ever get this comp working was going to add maybe another video card and what not. Anyways, changed my monitor, had another laying about. But alas, I'm getting the "Check signal" Message on my comp screen, so for some reason my comp still isnt working. Like I said, I've gotten it to work before, got it to go all the way to Windows Installation. But, when I opened my pretty little package from Microsoft, no activation key.... I have NEVER been so angry in my life. And now, it won't go back to going on the screen. I 've tried refreshing the CMOS to no success. Could the motherboard be fried? Or is it my graphics card? Or if i can some how get it back to Windows Installation screen and i finish installation, will it be ok? Thank you in advance any one who is willing to help me.

Re: Monitor wont show anything unless I clear CMOS and wont boot!

set it up out of the case with
cpu
video
ram
speaker
start it by touching the 2 pins on the m/b the front case button connects to,with a small screwdriver for a fraction of a sec. and see if it posts
