[SOLVED] Sound not working with internal soundcard! eep! HELP ME!
I have a brand new, out of the box, custom computer with a ASUS P5KC motherboard in it, with the internal sound card and its software, Realtek HD Audio Manager, i can play the testing sounds throught the built in speakers in my ACER Widescreen. But, say for instance, when i try to play a song on Zune or play World of Warcraft. I dont have any sound coming out of the speakers. The same it true when I plugged my MP3's headphones into the front jack. the drivers are all up to date, i checked the site. And when i go to the "Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices" menu in the control panel, it says i have no audio device and the "Device Volume" Sound Playback" ect. menus are all greyed out, below i have links to screen shots of the error messages.

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#High%20Definition%20Audio%20Codecs
Try that driver, download the "Windows 2000, Windows XP/2003(32/64 bits) Driver only (Executable file)" Before you install go into add/remove programs, if there is a realtek driver there unistall it |

Re: Sound not working with internal soundcard! eep! HELP ME!
YEah, i tried from the CD too, and there's still that error. The comp. is brand new, i opened the box and the thing didnt work. so if this issue cannot be solved any way from here, which so far has been the BEST by far information source on the web. Then i'll just have to take the long drive to the computer store. Please do, if you have time, continue in you're search for an answer, because i cannot find any.

Re: Sound not working with internal soundcard! eep! HELP ME!
is sound enabled in the bios,it should work from running the sound driver setup from the m/board cd
you only usually strike a problem when you upgrade the drivers

Well we can see what the fix is here. Now we need to somehow uninstall that crap windows installed and install the proper stuff. |

Re: Sound not working with internal soundcard! eep! HELP ME!
Hey guys, Well Tara and I have been troubleshooting this problem for a few days now and no results, so i wiped the harddrive and started with a fresh install. Now the audio works fine.
And to reply to Dia with his suggestion, we already tried that but everytime we went to uninstall it, it would say, "you cannot uninstall this driver because it may be needed to boot up." |
