Ok how hot can a amd athlon x2 dual core 4400+ get before the computer restarts?

Hi,

usuall depends on the speed that its going and if there is a setting in BIOS to restart or turn off the computer.

also depends on the heatsink and how good and fast the fan is.

You set this parameter in the BIOS. I would keep it at about 70 degrees because above this the processor may experience instability.

If you are having problems with heat (or suspect that), you might give us your specs and tell us what is happening and maybe one of us can assist you to solve an issue.
