[SOLVED] PC Won't Post...losing my mind
Ok,
Got All new parts ordered from tigerdirect hooked up and can't get it to post...thought it might be the video card. tested that on a friends pc since he has pcie it worked fine. swapped ram in my pc to see if that was bad it worked. swapped power supply it was fine as well. the board get juice. fans, lights turn, on no beeps. tried to get a post out of case wouldn't post. I assumed the board was dead from these tests and decided to but a better board $60 later same prob. the new board is an asus P5Gd1-fms intel 915 the board is ECS 915PL-A2 the video is biostar pcie 6200 64mb cpu intel celeron D 3.33ghz 533 bus ram is BUffalo 512 ddr 333 talking with the tech support through mobo company he said the cpu is supported and if the fans on cpu is working.... Do you have a multimeter to test the PSU with? If so, post back.

Re: PC Won't Post...losing my mind
alright im stuck...my psu wont work to test because its a 20pin bit 20+4 or 24. the board apears to get power. cpu fan turns on LAN light is on.all part being new is what frustrates me the most I really don't know what to do. Last week i took the assumption that the board was DOA soi i bought another new one diff brand. same prob. should i waist more money on a new psu? with the ram cpu video psu connected it wont post. do i need a serial or ide device attached. i wouldn't think so but im losing ideas.

Re: PC Won't Post...losing my mind
I don't understand what you mean. Could you please explain.
What board are you using now? If it's the ECS it's not compatible with your CPU. Try the ASUS board without RAM, video and CPU. If it doesn't beep it has to be a faulty motherboard (since you have tested the PSU in another computer). |

Re: PC Won't Post...losing my mind
A 20-pin PSU will work in a 24-pin motherboard and a 24-pin PSU will work in a 20-pin motherboard.
