Question pointers about this board ?

Hello everyone,

I'm looking into a board for a C II duo 800 fsb that will let me use my DDR 400 and would love to know if anyone has any thoughts/knowledge about this one:

Asrock 775I65G i865G, S775, AGP 4x/8x, DDR 266/333/400

It says Core II is "Only supported with PCB version R2.00 or higher and bios 2.8". It doesn't seem to be designed for C2duo, though it says it will work.

Should I go with this one ? because I can't seem to find any others that will support DDR 400 except hybrid ones which are said to have issues?

Or any recommendations?

thankyou.

Re: pointers about this board ?

youre kind of asking for medicore performance messing with DDR memory and C2D cpu

I strongly advice you dump that idea , sell off your old ddr400 sticks on ebay
and get a core 2 motherboard, cpu and ddr2 memory

the set-up you listed wont overclock worth a crap; and thats the whole "shine" to Core-2's

Re: pointers about this board ?

I agree with Joe, your trying to run older technology(ddr ram) with new plus relying on a patched up bios to make core 2 work, hmmmmm I wonder how good that would be???

Sounds like it could be headaches and even if it did work you would loose alot of performance
