Computer Randomly Shutting Down
Hi all,
On Saturday afternoon I went and bought all the parts for a new system and got a friend to set it; reasons because it is almost the exact same model as his (better graphics card) and he's done it before and they work fine. After finishing it we boot it up and it goes into bios and shuts down. We thought we accidentally unplugged the power. We continue doing this only to discover every time we turn it on it keeps shutting down anywhere between one minute and two minutes. On the back of the case is a little lcd monitor where we see the words HD ERROR. Please help me!!! |

Re: Computer Randomly Shutting Down
Hello and welcome to the forum, could you list your system specs for us, it would help us troubleshoot. If the error shows HD ERROR, then you may have a faulty harddrive....unplug it and see if the computer will post, and if you can get into the bios without it shutting down. make sure that the harddrive cable is in properly, that it is in the correct slot on the mobo, and in the correct position on the cable if its an ide drive, and any jumpers on the harddrive are set to its correct position
