Kv8 se Deluxe, xp could not detect hard drives
I have two 74G raptors in raid 0 that I can't get xp to detect.
Everything goes smoothly on setup. I hit f6, install promise xp drivers, then it eventually gets the the "welcome to windows setup " screen where is asks me to hit enter to setup xp I hit enter to install xp and it says "setup did not detect any hard disk drives installed on your computer " i've double checked the connections -sata cables secure on both ends -correctly plugged into PRI_SATA & SEC_SATA -power plugged into drives -Bios deects them on reboot -raid 0 array created in fastbuild -onboard promise controller [enabled] -operating mode [raid] -onchip sata boot rom (im not sure what this does so i tried installing xp with it both disabled and enabled and got the same result, right now its enabled). Any info would be helpful, thanks. |

you are using the wrong sata drivers. ive had the same problem on my k8v se deluxe. even though the windows installation accepts the drivers, it wont detect it. i dont remember the exact driver i used, but i recommend trying these:

1st driver you listed worked like a charm. Thans for the help
. The only thing i dont understand is why the drivers that were packaged on the support cd didn't work. The drivers under the first link seem to be the exact same drivers from the via folder on the cd that came with the box.
