motherboard ID
I just got a Toshiba Satellite Pro 6000 on EBay. I took it apart and found some weird numbers on the motherboard. It is a Toshiba FMOSY1 then bar code with 113A1W4S under it and under that again is NM4 94V-0.
The north bridge is a M1644T and the south is a M1535. The only number which matches the service manual is the south bridge and the CPU which is an Intel P3 1000 MHZ. The model # on the back of the laptop is PS600U-AAAA6. Again not a number I can find on any web site. This all started when I couldn't play a DVD which I have a drive for if not a proper driver but when I try to up-grade it tells me that the proper one is installed. Can anyone tell me what I have here. My first thought is that I got something someone whipped up from available parts and somehow got it to boot. Thanx Bob |

Re: motherboard ID
I have opened PC2007 but Huston we have a problem. At first it opened and tried to do a system analyse but it got to 47% completion and hit a wall fromwhich it would not respond to end task or close. Right now I am working with a blue square in the middle of the screen saying PC2007 Wizard with a green stripe on the bottom flashing but it will not disappear. I am going to shut down, as I can function around it but this is not the first such program I have tried to use to ID components. One did say it could not ID the motherboard and suggested I up_grade. I await your comments. Bob

Re: motherboard ID
Thanx Dai; that is a great diognostic program, it told me much more the several other I have tried. I did discover that my laptop is different in that many components come up Trial version. But it did figure out I was using a D-Link wireless and others couls not figure that out, although it did say I had a wireless internal and bluetooth, neither of which are there, so it must use standard configeration data to come up with a report. The bottom line here is that it looks like I need more ram of which I have 500 but can handle 1000.
Thanx again |
