Boot failure black screen 00A1

I have a Tyan Thunder K8W (S2885), Dual opteron 246's with 2GB Corsair ECC ram. System hangs during boot. A black screen with 00A1 appears in the lower right corner. I have never encountered a problem like this. I am going to start removing hardware and troubleshoot as much as I can. Any help or ideas is welcome. Thanks.

It might be a RAM problem.. Try running Memtest from a Linux boot disc (I use Gentoo) How long have you been getting this problem?

Started two days ago. System would hang, no video signal or input could be detected. How long would you suggest running memtest?

Overnight, and for each stick separately. Should see if you have any problems with it.
