Computer Suddenly Shuts Down For Good?

Hi, everyone my name is Tim, new to these forums obviously. I was on my seperate computer playing a MMORPG and my little brother pokes me with a stick, i take the stick, he asks for it back, i give it to him, he goes to hit me, i deflect, the stick hits the other computer.. SOFT not very hard at all, nothing i couldnt do with my index finger. Suddenly, the computer turns off, i go to turn it back on, the fans working, little cd drive light still works, it will let me click the button to have the tray come out.. but there is no correlation between the monitor and the computer, i dont know the specs, my brother was playing World of warcraft while it happened, all i know is it's running on a radeon graphics card, athlon processor, and 512mb ram. Does anyone have suggestions? ive tried to power cycle the trip and the computer itself and nothing seems to work, i was told that my memory could ahve possibly gone bad, any suggestions?

check the monitor cables are secure
reseat the video card
