BSOD error- "Machine Check Exception"
Starting a few weeks ago my computer started takeing much longer to boot into windows, about 3 minutes when it used to be about 50 seconds. A few Days ago it restarted randomly and i saw the BSOD, "Machine Check Exception" which seems to be this error:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=329284 After the restart it gives the few options, safe mode's, last known good config or normal start. Normal start and last known good config caused it to restart, but safe mode worked fine. After a leaving it off for a few hours it then booted up into windows fine, but still took the 3 minutes to boot that it has been doing for the past few weeks. Over the past few days it booted ok a few times and randomly bsod'd maybe 6 times. A little while ago when it wasnt booting I went into safe mode and restored it to back a few weeks ago. It then started ok but im pretty sure its gonna bsod again and I need to figure out why. This is my pc: AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (2.4ghz, San Diego) [Not OC'ed] 3D Fuzion 7800GT [Not OC'ed] DFI Lanparty UT nF4 Ultra-D 2x OCZ 1GB DDR 400 Platinum Memory Zalman CNPS9500 HSF OCZ PowerStream 520W [3.3V(28A),+5V(40A), +12V(33A)] 200GB SATA Seagate HD The error talks about hardware changes, at around the time it started takeing 3 mins to boot,( but not bsod and randomly reboot, the bsod only started a few days ago) I changed printers, usb hp printer to another usb hp printer, and I many have removed a IDE cd drive from the system. I also moved the whole system into my college dorm about a week and a half ago. It did work fine for about a week. Everything in the computer is about 2-5 months old. I'm not really sure what could be causing the problem, I dont think its overheating as I was playing WoW for hours last night and it didnt bsod at all during that, yet it bsod'd later on randomly when I wasnt doing anything cpu intensive, but here are my temps with everest home. The zalman is a very good hsf although it does seem to be running the fan very fast, everest says its 6000-8500rpm when i check it.
