what version of pci slot do i have or how can i figure it out? i want to buy a new video card which i think can only run on a 3.3v slot! HELP PLEASE!
dell 2400 3 pci slots 2.66 ghz 2048 mb ram shity graphics card! THANKS! :D and the card i am going to get says it requires a 300 watt power supply what the hell does that mean and what do i need to do to accommodate it? Last edited by studmuffinmg; 09-05-2006 at 02:27 AM. |

What is the DELL service tag number on your pc. I can check your motherboards specs on DELLs website and then assist you further.
Otherwise check your manual or get an IT person to have a look at your machine. |

That computer more than likley has an AGP or PCIe slot on it, in which case you should use that. Any card that uses a PCI slot won't be much better than what you have now. If you look on the motherboard, do you see a different colored slot about the same length as the PCI slots or a slot thats longer than the PCI slots?
As for the PSU, you will need enough power to give all the components power. Underpowered components are unhappy components. Check at the PC Power and Cooling website. They sell Dell PSUs. Depending what video card you have, you will need a different amount of power. If you post what video card you will be getting, we can recomend a suitable amount of power.
