Problems with Duel channel Ram

im running an AMD 64fx 3800+ on a SL-K890Pro-939

it supports duel channel ram. I have 1G of Corsair XMS (2x512mb).

Ive ran duel channel for about 8 months. All of a sudden, my pc starts crashing. At first, i removed one stick and it worked. using the process of elimination, i found out that neither stick was messed up. I have tried to flash my bios, but the soltek site has been down, and i cant find the bios anywhere. this problem started out of nowhere, so i doubt the bios needs to be flashed, anyways... There has been no big hardware change lately. i thought that maybe the heat was causing a problem, and maybe my cpu was reaching the threshold, but i got some dust off and went to school on it... nothing. So ive ran out of ideas. ive been thinking about simply reformatting because maybe it was a windows update or something stupid that triggered this.

Any help would be very appreciated.

My System

Explain the crash and exactly what happens, Are there any bsod's with a error message?

List your full system specs especially the video card and the psu.

List your temps and voltages of the 3.3V,5V,12V

it seems to happen when alot is going on... mostly when i play world of warcraft (a game) and i do get a windows error once the system has rebooted. when i refer to the windows help, it says that it might have been a device in conflict but i havent had any hardware changes.

i have a radeon x800 pro and my psu is 650w.

as for temps, could you point me in the direction of a program that monitors that? i know there is one, but have forgotten the name

What brand is your PSU? There are many PSUs that are extremely low quality and are very likely to fail within a year.

My System

I don't think the psu is the problem at least at this point.

Usually the motherboard manufactuer supplies a program on the motherboard cd that reads temps and volts.

You could also try Everest http://www.majorgeeks.com/EVEREST_Fr...ion_d4181.html

Or SensorsView Pro
http://www.stvsoft.com/

Tell us the temps when at idle and when playing the game

Tell us that error too

My System

Send a message via MSN to linderman
also you could try blowing a house fan into your computer / remove the side from case first of course >>>> if the problem goes away then you know heat is the culprit

if you case temps are high or were high for aqn extended period of time you could have damaged your PSU

even Alexander the Great eventually fell !

idle is about 46 and gaming goes to like 55.

this problem is still happening. the windows error says its caused by a device driver but offers no means of help.

The temps are a bit warm you should be seeing in the range of 37c at idle and 50c under full load.

At 55c I don't think that would trigger it , if you see temps in the 60's that could.

Because of the error try updating to the latest video driver or if you already have the latest try reinstalling it to see if it helps then we will work on the temps.

It sounds like you all ready did but make sure the inside of the case is clean of dust
