Primmary hard disk drive 1 not found

Help
I was geven a Dell Tower computer it has Windows 2000 pro
in it with A Pinteum 3 Pros

I get this massege when it try's to boot up

Primmary hard disk 1 not found
Secondary hard disk 0 not found
hit F1 to contune or hit F2 for Uitlty

I hit F2 and this what the setup reads
Date and time are right

Diskette Drive A: 3.5 Inch, 1.44 MB
Diskette Drive B: Not Installed:

Drives
Primery Type Cyls Hds Pre LZ Sec Size
Drive 0: None
Drive 1: Auto

Secondary
Drive 0: None
Drive 1: Auto

I do beleve this is the worng setting But I do not know
what to place in the above Drive area.
It does Read the Floppy drive
but notheing elese
the Hard drive or the Cd Romm
can any one help

I get that same problem when i try to boot up!

Try changing both the drive O settings to auto

also if you only have one drive on each ide cable you should set drive one to none.

Thank you I just tried it I got ferther then before
now It is sitting waiting
should i put in the bootup floppy in
now.
I dit hit F1 after reboot and massge came up
strike the F1 key to contuine, F2 to run the setup utility

Are the hardrive and/or the Cd being recognised in the BIOS?

what os are you trying to install on it, or does it already have one on it?
